How to Register to E-File

  1. To register for e-filing, you must use your attorney number. If you do not know your attorney number, you can find it in the Attorney Listing online at http://mdcourts.gov/lawyers/attylist. Your attorney number is included in your listing. If you are unable to locate your attorney number, please contact Maryland Judicial Information Systems (JIS) Service Desk or call the Service Desk at 410-260-1114. Once you know your attorney number, you can register and e-file documents with the court, as well as register to have full remote, online access to the cases you are representing. Complete this MDEC Address Change Form for validation of current address and send it to [email protected] for processing.
  2. Designate a person to administer the e-filing system for your firm. The administrator will register the firm and be responsible for setting up and maintaining all users, credit card accounts, attorneys at the firm. NOTE: The e-file administrator only needs to register and create an account one time to enable all legal professionals in that firm to e-file and e-serve in any court.
  3. Register to e-file with Maryland Odyssey File and Serve or an alternative electronic filing service provider.
  4. To verify that the court has your current address in MDEC or to change your address complete this form and send it to [email protected] for processing.

How to Register to Review Documents

  1. Pursuant to MD Rule 20-109, all users must be entered as a party to the case for access to electronic records.
  2. To view your cases and documents electronically, you must register on the Maryland Judiciary Record Search portal. Step-by-step instructions for registering can be found here.
  3. During registration, you will be asked to enter your attorney number. If you do not know your attorney number, you can find it in the online at Maryland Attorney Listing. All attorneys should complete the MDEC Attorney Update Form and submit it to [email protected] to ensure that courts have current information.
