Worcester County Circuit Court:
REQUESTING AUDIO RECORDINGS OF COURT PROCEEDINGS
Please be advised that pursuant to Maryland Rule 16-504(h)(3), a person who receives a copy of an electronic recording as to which all or a portion is subject to Rule 16-914(g) or as to which public access is limited shall not make or cause to be made any additional copy of the shielded or redacted portion of the recording or play the shielded or redacted portion of the recording for or give or electronically transmit the recording to any person not entitled to it under subsection (h)(1) of this Rule. A violation of any restriction on use of an electronic recording of the Rule may be punished as a contempt.
For cases not involving a juvenile, complete and submit the Request for Copy of Audio Recordings along with payment to the address on the form.
For cases involving a juvenile, complete the following steps:
- Step 1: Complete the Request for Copy of Audio Recording.
- Step 2: File the Request for Copy of Audio Recording, a motion requesting audio of proceeding for a case involving a juvenile, and a proposed order.
- Step 3: A judge will rule on the motion, and, if granted, an order will be signed to release the audio.
- Step 4: When the request, payment, and signed order are received by the Court Reporter’s Office, the recording will be prepared and mailed to the address on the form. Please note that the audio recording will not be produced until payment is received.
