Instructions for Selected Judicial Interns

The purpose of this process is to ensure accurate recordkeeping and efficient processing of all unpaid judicial interns and volunteers throughout the Maryland Courts.

The current intern process is as follows:

  • The requester will complete the Volunteer Background Check Request Form and send it to Sarah Grissom at [email protected].
  • The Employment Services Specialist/Talent Acquisition Partner will enter the basic information submitted via the form into Inquiries (the Judiciary’s background check software).
  • An email will be sent to the volunteer containing a link with a username and temporary password for Inquiries. The volunteer must fill out the required form within 2 days of receipt of the email notification from Inquiries. This is detailed in the email the volunteer receives.
  • When the background check returns and it is acceptable for Maryland Judiciary to move forward with the volunteer, the Employment Services Specialist/Talent Acquisition Partner will receive the necessary signatures for the Agreement for Volunteer Work form and the Confidentiality Agreement form.
