Courts Celebrate National Adoption Day

Maryland Circuit Courts presided over multiple adoptions and held family celebrations to mark National Adoption Day in November. The largest was held by the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and the Bar Association of Baltimore City on Saturday, November 18, when 26 children were adopted into “forever families.” More than 200 family members and friends joined dozens of volunteers for the event, which was presided over by Baltimore City Circuit Administrative Judge W. Michel Pierson, Judge Kendra Y. Ausby, judge in charge of the family division, and Judge Robert B. Kershaw, judge in charge of the juvenile division. Bar Association of Baltimore City President Charles M. Blomquist shared greetings from the association’s 2,500 members. The chair of the Adoption Day celebration in Baltimore is Erika Slater, Esquire.
