Library Tours

The Library is proud of its collections and is pleased to provide tours by request of both the general collection and the Chief Judge Robert M. Bell Special Collections Room.

Tours for Public Visitors

To request a tour, public visitors should contact the Library, preferably at least two weeks in advance of a desired tour. Library staff will accommodate scheduling preferences as much as possible, but visits may be limited by staff availability or building events. Public visitor tours are normally scheduled for 30 to 60 minutes, between 9:00am and 4:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Tours may be unavailable on court argument days - see the schedules posted on the Judiciary’s website for the Supreme Court of Maryland and the Appellate Court of Maryland. The Library reserves the right to restrict access to the Special Collections Room.

Requests for tours should be directed to the Library reference desk at 410-260-1430 or [email protected]. Contact by email is preferred. When requesting a tour, please be prepared to provide information about:

  • Number of visitors expected to attend;
  • Length desired (30 or 60 minutes);
  • Whether a tour of the Special Collections, the general collection, or both;
  • Suggested dates and times.
