In this topic, you will Publish article.
Steps:
Click the Main Menu button.
Step 1Click the Content Management menu.
Step 2Click the News Publications menu.
Step 3Click the Search Sections menu.
Step 4Content is organized into folders. The Search will provide you with a list of all the folders available.
Click the Search button.
Step 5There are two folders you will use to post articles:
CONNECT News - posts to the CONNECTion News pagelet in My Page
Training Tips - posts to the Education and Training pagelet in My Page
Step 6For this example, we will post into the CONNECT News folder.
Click the CONNECT News link.
Step 7The Browse Section Articles page provides you with a list of all articles in the system.
Step 8To add a new article.
Step 9To preview the article click the Title of the article.
Step 10The Status of the article:
Draft - created and saved for additional editing at a later time
Pending - created and submitted for additional edits by another user
Published - available to end users
Step 11The Properties link will open up the article for editing.
Step 12Click the Properties link.
Step 13Click the vertical scrollbar.
Step 14Once the article is ready to be published, there are additional steps to take to ensure the article is posted on the pagelet itself.
Step 15First we will need to indicate the location of the article.
Click the Locations link.
Step 16Publication Top Story indicates the article is the latest and most important article and therefore, will be on top.
Click the Publication Top Story option.
Step 17Section Top Story indicates the article is the latest of the articles within the section.
Click the Section Top Story option.
Step 18You also have the ability to set the Publish Date and Expiration Date on this page. The defaults are the day of creation and one year until expiration.
Step 19Click the Return button.
Step 20Click the vertical scrollbar.
Step 21Next we will select the viewers to ensure all users have access to view the article.
Click the Viewers link.
Step 22For this section make sure both the PAPP_EMPLOYEE and PAPP_USER are checked.
Click the PAPP_EMPLOYEE option.
Step 23Click the OK button.
Step 24Click the vertical scrollbar.
Step 25You may also want to include an image.
Click the Associated Image link.
Step 26You may choose from an existing image.
Click the Add Existing Image button.
Step 27Click the vertical scrollbar.
Step 28Click the 2131 option.
Step 29Click the vertical scrollbar.
Step 30Click the OK button.
Step 31Click the Return button.
Step 32Now that the message is complete, locations, viewers, and image are set we are ready to publish.
Click the Publish button.
Step 33Once you publish the article a Black Border Line indicates your article is not available for editing. In the case you need to make a correction, first Unpublish, Edit, and the Publish again.
Step 34Click the Home link.
Step 35To review the published article, refresh the pagelet. Users will see the new posting after loggin into the system.
Click the Refresh button.
Step 36Click the 05.16.16 - MANAGER: Time and Labor Dashboard link.
Step 37Notice that from this page you have an Edit Content link to take you directly to the article if you need to make a correction. This link is only available to users with access to the component.
Step 38From this page you can navigate to other published articles.
Step 39And you may also view articles published in other sections.
Step 40Click the Home link.
Step 41Click the Sign out link.
Step 42You have completed publishing an article.
