The Person Insight allows you to retrieve job data about employees using search criteria based on your manager/security roles.
Steps:
Click the Main Menu menu.
Step 1Click the HCM Systems menu.
Step 2Click the Insights menu.
Step 3Click the Person Insight menu.
Step 4The Person Insight page provides current job details of employees.
If a specific employee's information is needed, the report can be generated using Employee ID, Last/First Name or Position Number search criteria.
If a group of employee information is needed, the report can be generated using Job Code, Reports To PIN, Supervisor ID, FT/PT, or REG/TEMP/CONT.
Step 5If you click Search and do not select any criteria, all employees that fall under your security access will appear.
For this example, the security is set to view employees of the DC Engineering & Central Department.
Click the Search button.
Step 6Click the Horizontal scrollbar to move to the right side of the page and view all of the columns.
Step 7Click the Horizontal scrollbar to move back to the left side of the page.
Step 8Click the Export button to download the search results into an Excel spreadsheet.
Step 9You can choose to Save File or Open with Microsoft Excel. For this example, click the OK button to open the file.

Once the file is open, you are able to filter, sort, etc. just as you would any other Excel file.
Step 11Click the Minimize button to return to the Person Insight page.
Step 12Click the Clear button.
Step 13The Person Insight allows you to search for a single PIN, Reports To PIN, or Supervisor ID.
For this example, you will search by PIN.
Click in the Position Number field.
Step 14Click the SI000068 link for Summer Intern.
Step 16Click the Search button.
Step 17There are 2 Summer Interns with PIN SI000068 at the DC Warehouse location under Supervisor Gary Cranford.
Step 18Click the Clear button.
Step 19HINT: These empty fields on the right will allow you to enter a keyword as part of the selection criteria.
For this example, we want to retrieve all Job Codes with the keyword 'WAREHOUSE' in the Job Code Description.
Click in the empty field next to Job Code.
Step 20Click the Search button.
Step 22Click the Vertical scrollbar to move down the page.
Step 23There are 13 employees with Job Codes that include 'Warehouse' as part of their Job Code Description.
Step 24Click the Clear button.
Step 25The Person Insight also allows you to enter more than one Job Code, Location or District.
For this example, you will search for 2 locations. Click the Look up Location button.
Step 26If you do not know the Location Code, click the Search by drop-down list.
Step 27For this example, the first location is DC Cabinet Shop.
Click the Description list item.
Step 28CONNECT supports the (%) percent sign as a wildcard feature when searching for data in character fields. The (%) percent sign matches one or more characters.
Click the Look Up button.
Step 30The (%) percent wildcard search only returned one location that included 'CABINET' in the description.
Click the DC Cabinet Shop link.
Step 31Notice the Location Code selected is posted to the right of the Location field.
Click the Look up Location button to search for the 2nd location, DC Balt City-Civil.
Step 32Click the Vertical scrollbar to move down the page.
Step 33Click the DC74D link for DC Balt City-Civil.
Step 34Notice both selections are posted to the right of the Location field.
Click the Search button.
