Media Advisory:
Maryland Court of Appeals Grants Petitions for Writ of Certiorari in
State of Maryland v. Brian Rice, State of Maryland v. Edward Nero,
State of Maryland v. Garrett Miller, Caesar Goodson v. State of Maryland,
and Alicia White v. State of Maryland

 

The Maryland Court of Appeals has granted petitions for writ of certiorari in five cases related to the arrest and death of Freddie Gray, staying the proceedings in the cases pending in the Circuit Court for the City of Baltimore.  The cases will be argued in the Court of Appeals on Thursday, March 3, 2016.  The cases of Caesar Goodson v. State of Maryland and Alicia White v. State of Maryland were consolidated in the Court of Special Appeals.  The cases of State of Maryland v. Edward Nero, State of Maryland v. Garrett Miller, and State of Maryland v. Brian Rice will be argued on the same day.

Appellants’ briefs are due to the Court on February 24, 2016, and Appellees’ briefs are due on February 29, 2016.  Any replies are due on March 2, 2016.  Links to the relevant orders are below:
