Conflict Resolution Day
Bookmark Art Contest

In observance of National Conflict Resolution Day, held in October every year, the Maryland Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO) sponsors an annual Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest.  The contest is open to all Maryland students in grades K through 8.

Here are the winning entries for the 2014 Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest and Past Art Contest Winners.

The best 1,000 entries are displayed at the Courts of Appeal Building in Annapolis, Maryland. Winning students, with their families, are invited to an opening ceremony and reception at the courthouse. The Honorable Mary Ellen Barbera, Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals, presents the awards.  

Categories: Art is judged in three categories: Kindergarten through Second grades, Third through Fifth grades, and Sixth through Eighth Grades. 

Prizes: Art submissions are judged on creativity and message conveyed. The following prizes are awarded for each category: 

1st Place:  Winner will receive $75.00. 
2nd Place: Winner will receive $50.00.
3rd Place:  Winner will receive $25.00. 
We also select 6 entries to print as bookmarks for use in promoting conflict resolution across Maryland.
